I am investigating how different restoration planting treatments affect seed dispersal dynamics and subsequent establishment of restored rainforest. I am planning to use a combination of seed traps, camera traps, and mist nets to better understand how applied nucleation treatments influence seed disperser activity and overall seed rain.

How does fruit availability and planting density affect seed disperser activity, seed rain, and seedling establishment in a regenerating tropical forest?
Methods
128 seed traps installed throughout the Choconexion project landscape. Seeds collected every two weeks.
Camera traps opportunistically set on ripe fruits throughout the project landscape.
Planning to use mist nets to catch bats in order to collect seeds from feces.
